I saw Yvonne last night. It had been too long since we had last met up. Probably Eddie's birthday which was back in March. I was really busy with the concert. During that time there were lil things that were building up in her, regarding me, that was making her angry & upset. But the good thing that came out of that time apart was that she also learned to voice her frustrations to that person instead of expecting them to miraculously read her mind. So she did that with me last night and it was definitely a benefit to our relationship. She was able to talk to me without anger but simply with honesty and I was able to listen with an open mind and without taking any offense.

It's also interesting to note that both of us, alebit separately, learned during our time apart that it takes work to maintain a relationship. She learned this with her relationship with Eddie and I learned it regarding my relationship with her. I think both of us had the notion that since we (me & her, her & Eddie) had been together for so long, that our relationship would just flow along with us. I just started reading a book called "Fit To Be Tied" by Bill & Lynne Hybels. He is a pastor that I just recently found out about. SG told me to read his (Hybels) book, "Courageous Leadership" and I really enjoyed it. Anyways S from work had a lot of Hybels' books and he brought me FTBT. Although it's about marriage & making it work, the book also gives good insight on how to work effectively at relationships with anyone. Anyways, it really opened my eyes on the relationships in my life.

I've come to the realization that I'm not in high school anymore. In high school it was about having a huge group of friends. As the years go by you realize who your real friends are and who you really need in your life. My social circle has definitely dwindled to a few but they are surely the precious few. Each single somebody holds immense weight & importance in my life. And Yvonne is definitely one of the precious few.
