Dim sum with pics!
Tuesday, Jun. 04, 2002 - 10:41 PM Song: Midnight grinding, heart rate's climbing. You go, I'll go cuz we share a pillow Dream scribble: in one of my coworker's car. he has a big station wagon but in the dream it seems SO much bigger. it was humungous inside! maybe a stretch limo station wagon? haha! so we drove and we ended up in california. right when we were at the water's edge, a helicopter picked up the whole car and we flew over the water. Ever notice that my dream scribbles don't have capitals and sound a bit different than my other writing? It's cuz they are written down beforehand, usually in the mornings so that I don't forget them and the words go straight from my brain to my fingertips to the right keys with no edit. Though you might like to know. =)
It was such a beautiful sunny day, I had to take a pic in the light. I have been getting terribly lazy in updating haven't I? Lately I've been wanting to stay away from here. Sometimes I wonder if I stopped writing here and interacting with my fellow online journallers, how much would I miss it? How much does this and everyone related to it mean to me? But I realized that I can't walk away. It's a slump that I'm going through. I may not write as often as I used to but I could never stop writing altogether. Nor could I stop talking to my online friends because that's exactly what they are, friends. Whether it is online or "real life", they still mean something to me. Well now that the PMS induced mushiness is out of the way.... I had dim sum a couple of weeks ago with Yvonne and Eddie. Dim sum is one of my favorite meals and I think I like it even more so because I don't get to have it very often. I happened to be free that Saturday (a very rare occasion!) and so I wanted to enjoy it and not let it go to waste. I not only enjoy dim sum for the food but also for the atmosphere. I like the whole hustle and bustle of the restaurant at that time. The ladies in the uniforms going around with their lil carts laden with those lil round steaming dishes. The lil stamp they put on our card for every dish. The other patrons; families enjoying the meal and each other's company, old Chinese men talking quietly over cups and cups of jasmine tea, the occasional loner reading his newspaper while seated at a big table with another party. I had my camera with me and snapped a couple of pics, not of any of the people but of some of my favorite dim sum dishes. Yummy!!
And without fail, at the end of every dim sum meal, I MUST have this. My favorite dim sum dessert...almond tofu!! With lots of milk of course! I was disappointed there was no cherry in the mixed fruit like there usually is. I missed the bright redness of it. =(
Yvonne teased me about my taking pictures of everything but she had lots of fun with my camera too! She asked a lot of questions about it and really enjoyed playing around with it. She now wants a digicam also. Here are some pics that she took. I didn't even know she was taking them! Sneaky! In one I'm eating my almond tofu and the other one is Yvonne being artistic with a (too!) close up of me powdering my nose. Hee hee!
I seem to be making up for my lack of quality in my writing with lots of pictures. Is it working? *grin* We also went to the museum later that day but I'll save that for another entry because that too is full of pics.
