My apologies
Monday, Mar. 25, 2002 - 12.39 PM Song: When the time comes I'll take you away I haven't updated in nearly a week!! I'm sorry! I've been busy living life. =) Let me fill you guys in on what's been going on the past week. Last Monday I was bad and played hooky from work to play with Peter. Tuesday I was good and I went to work and had dinner at home with my dad. Wednesday I was good and went to church as usual. After church I met up with Julie for a lil bit. She had to give me a late bday present (yay!) and she had bought a Tahari suit (for only $150!) that was too small on her so she wanted to see if it would fit me. The jacket fit perfectly! The sleeves were a lil long, which was expected but I was very surprised at how well it fit my narrow shoulders. The pants however were huge!! But my mom does the tailoring at her dry cleaners so she was able to take them in. Cool beans! *grin* Thursday I went to dinner with Peter, his brother and his girlfriend. Yum Korean BBQ and soju! It wasn't the typical kalbi stuff. It was pork cut very thick and seasoned with just a bit of salt. It's supposedly very popular in Korea right now. Anyways it was good. Peter had been wanting to go have gogi and soju anyways. Afterwards we went singing. The lowest score had to down their beer. And we weren't allowed to sing our usual songs. Peter's brother got drunk, which wasn't surprising as he drinks a lot and usually does get pretty wasted. Friday morning I got sick. Must have been all that pork from the night before. I went to work in the morning but felt so nauseous that I left. But I was bad cuz I didn't go home. Instead I went over to Peter's. Turns out Peter's brother didn't go to work and his girlfriend came over early in the morning. So we all slept until late afternoon when we got hungry and ordered some P'zones from Pizza Hut. Yes it was another bum day for Key! I went to church that night for the usual Friday night service and I got so angry there. This church thing is so burdensome and sometimes I get very angry, frustrated and burnt out. But I don't want to get into that now. After church Peter and I rented "The Basketball Diaries" since neither of us had ever seen it. We also bought lots of junk food and beer and basically were bums at home again. *grin* Surprisingly enough, I weighed myself the other day and I actually lost 2 pounds. It's the Key diet! Lose weight while eating chips, drinking beer and vegging out in front of the TV!! So anyways, due to me being frustrated, I skipped praise team practice on Saturday. It felt so good to have a day completely free! I had a early breakfast meeting with Yvonne and my friend Carry who I haven't seen in ages. Then it was off to get my eyebrows waxed which was very much needed. They were getting a bit scary there. Then it was off to Chinatown to buy my nephew's birthday present. It's his first birthday so I bought him a lil ID bracelet with an elephant on either side of the name plate part. It was so cute!! And I got it at a VERY good price because Yvonne knows the guy. That's where Peter bought me the ring and where Yvonne bought me the bracelet. I am planning on going back there to buy wedding rings for my parents for their upcoming anniversary. Later that night we watched "Training Day" at Yvonne's house. I fell asleep! I blame it on the very lil sleep I got the night before and the Chinese food we had for dinner. That stuff knocks you out man! *Zzzz* Last night was my nephews Sean's dol janchi or first birthday celebration. Koreans usually throw a big party for the baby's first birthday. He was dressed up in a lil tux with red cumberbund and red bow tie! Too cute!! It was held in a Korean restaurant in a lil party room. There was an insane amount of yummy Korean food there. It was crazy how many courses kept coming out! Needless to say, I stuffed myself lovely that night. At the baby's first birthday party there is a Korean tradition where certain items are placed in front of the baby to see which one he picks. Whatever he picks determines what kind of future he will have. The items are pencil and notebook (signifies academic success), money (signifies wealth, duh!), rice (also signifies wealth. Basically means he will never go hungry) and thread (signifies a long life). Sean picked the pencil and notebook but it doens't stop there! He picked up the pencil and with it dragged the money over to him! Haha! Which means that he will get rich through studying well. Lots of pics were taken so I will be sure to put them up. That was my very full week. I hope it was an acceptable reason for not writing!
